The Open Science Toolbox for Animal Research

The Open Science Toolbox for Animal Research is collection of tools intended to maximise the knowledge gained from animal experiments.

The Open Science Toolbox for Animal Research is collection of tools intended to maximise the knowledge gained from animal experiments.

The Toolbox was created by the German Centre for the Protection of Laboratory Animals (Bf3R) at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR).

The Toolbox provides an overview of open science tools that can be applied throughout the research process, from designing and conducting experiments to analysing data and publishing results. The tools listed in the table were selected based on their relevance to the animal research community in terms of their intended function to improve transparency and reproducibility. The Toolbox is regularly updated.
